This is the tenth year that Multichannel News and Broadcasting & Cable will present this signature conference for those in the business of television for Hispanic viewing audiences.
The theme of the 2012 Summit is “Listening to the Latino viewer.”
The Summit will take place as tens of thousands of advertising industry executives gather in New York for a week of planned activities and scheduled events. In particular, about 500 industry leaders from across the nation and throughout Latin America and Spain will participate in this “must-attend”, one-day, annual conference on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square – - in the heart of New York City.
The Tenth Annual Hispanic Television Summit will feature compelling panel discussions and informative keynote presentations by top executives and on-air personalities from pay TV providers, broadcasters, programming networks, production companies, advertisers, and agencies.
This year, as in the past, an award will be presented for Achievement in Hispanic Television to one noteworthy individual who has been responsible for generating profitability for the Hispanic TV industry. Among the past recipients include: boxing champ Oscar de la Hoya, TV Hosts Don Francisco and Cristina Saralegui, journalists Jorge Ramos and Maria Celeste Arraras, sportscaster Andres Cantor, and advertising execs Monica Gadsby from SMG and P&G’s Edgar Sandoval. This year’s award recipient is yet to be announced.
In recognition of the tenth anniversary, a new award for Leadership in Hispanic Television will be introduced. The award will be presented to one company or organization in acknowledgement of their tenacity and commitment to serving the Hispanic viewing audience. The honoree has not yet been announced. This award will also be presented during the Awards Luncheon (noon to 2 pm).
